Starting in the new year, Nordisk Teaterlaboratorium – Odin Teatret is looking for new board members who want to contribute to the strategic development of the theatre.
We are looking for three members who want to take part in realising the theatre's vision og being:
A dynamic and groundbreaking theatre laboratory, where performing arts connect people and open new perspectives through research, dialogue and co-creation.
As an artistic laboratory, we contribute to the development of performing arts, strengthen young talents and create communities where art and civil society meet, and where independent artists can develop new, high-quality performing arts.
Together, we want the new members to contribute with skills within: management, economics, law, communication, sustainability and artistic development.
In the selection process, our focus will be on finding new members who contribute with strong networks both locally, nationally and internationally, knowledge of youth culture and the ability to work in an organised and strategic manner. It is of value to us that the board as a whole represents diversity in terms of gender and age as well as skills and geography.
How to be considered
We ask interested candidates to send their expression of interest to the board chair Louise Ejgod at draleh@cc.au.dk by 20/10 at the latest.
In the expression of interest, please answer the following questions:
- Who are you, and what skills do you bring to the board?
- What is your motivation for joining the theatre's board?
In early November, initial meetings will be held with the candidates that the current board and the theatre director see as the best fit to contribute to the future board work. The meetings will generally be held online.
The board will then make a decision on its future composition, which will be announced around 1/12. The new board members will join as of 1/1 2026.
About Nordisk Teaterlaboratorium – Odin Teatret
NTL is a regional theatre in Holstebro Municipality. The theatre produces at least two professional performances annually and also actively contributes to developing the performing arts locally.
The theatre is currently undergoing a major strategic development process, with a focus on strengthening the theatre's role nationally. Here, we are particularly focused on developing cross-aesthetic formats, on collaborating with independent performing artists and on strengthening Holstebro's position in the national performing arts landscape. Locally, the focus is on outreach, including co-creation with young people, establishing the theatre as a permanent guest performance venue with a continuous range of performances, and on further developing the strong collaboration with other cultural institutions and businesses.
You can read more about the theatre here on the website, and our regional theatre agreement with Holstebro Municipality for 2025-2028 can be read here.
Being on the board
The board works closely with theatre director Per Kap Bech Jensen to strengthen the theatre's strategic development and performing arts expression. There is already a good and close collaboration both within the board and between the board and the theatre manager.
In recent years, work has been done to increase the professionalisation of the board's work, including new statutes that expand the number of board members. At the same time, two of the current board members wish to resign. The remaining board members are: Louise Ejgod, associate professor of Dramaturgy, Peter Teilmann, Director of the Theatre Museum in the Hofteatret, Karoline H. Larsen, visual artist and Lene Dybdal, chair of the culture and leisure committee of Holstebro Municipality.
The board holds five regular annual meetings, including one strategy seminar of two days at the beginning of the year. At least two of the remaining four board meetings are held physically at the theatre, while the remaining can be held online on agreement. In addition, extraordinary board meetings (online) and other activities may be held to a limited extent.
Board work is unpaid, but the theatre naturally covers transport costs and offers accommodation at the theatre.
If you have any questions, please contact the board chair Louise Ejgod Hansen at 25566935 / draleh@cc.au.dk or the theatre director Per Kap Bech Jensen at 51364770 / per@ntl.dk
With kind regards
The board of directors of the Nordisk Teaterlaboratorium – Odin Teatret.
