Nordisk Teaterlaboratorium changes course

After a couple of years of significant growth in operations and artistic activities both locally and internationally, the director and the board of Nordisk Teaterlaboratorium have now decided to change course to ensure a sustainable operation and future for the theatre.

In the wake of a successful but demanding Holstebro Festival, where Nordisk Teaterlaboratorium was the organisational driving force and artistic frontrunner, the theatre is now completely reshaping its operations and making a major organisational change.

The changes will have a profound impact on day-to-day operations, resulting in both redundancies and a renewal of the artistic work culture that has characterised the theatre for many years. "We need to face reality, both organisationally and financially," says theatre director Per Kap Bech Jensen, "if we are to ensure a sustainable artistic future for the theatre. Having to lay off employees is incredibly difficult and I can only regret that it has been necessary. But we simply have to act while the time is right to ensure that the theatre can continue its unique locally rooted work with an international outlook."

The changes and adjustments to Nordisk Teaterlaboratorium's organisation will take place during the late summer and autumn of 2024. Revenue will also be adjusted downwards by DKK 3.0 million.
