Ildfluefest 2022 (Firefly Festival 2022)

Ikarus kicks off the streets with live music, performances and street theatre

Ikarus Stage Arts invites you to a three-day cultural festival which puts art, culture and communities in focus 1 - 3 September.

How can art and culture be used to build bridges across ethnic and cultural differences? With Ildfluefest, Ikarus Stage Arts, together with Holstebro Municipality and Den Boligsociale Helhedsplan i Trianglen, will create the best conditions for more children and families to be introduced to the varied cultural life we have in Holstebro Municipality.

But we can't do it alone! We believe in close collaboration and that is why we have invited people from all over the world to create three days packed with live music, performances, culinary street market in the Triangle, street theatre, circus, international guest performances from e.g. Greenland's National Theatre. The festival will take place in different places in the city:

September – Nordisk Teaterlaboratorium – Odin Teatret, Særkærparken 144
September – Gågaden Holstebro, start at Nørreport kl. 15:00
September – Trekanten Holstebro

The firefly festival is the culmination of the work of Ikarus Stage Arts and the children of the Firefly Academy in the Triangle, where the goal is to create and celebrate new communities through art.

-When we perform, we can create a connection between professional artists and ordinary people, and that interaction is both fun and interesting. The point is to show people as many different forms of expression as possible, and to show that there are things that can bind people together across backgrounds and countries. We hope that it will be cool and that we manage to create some new networks, says Carolina Pizarro.

All events are free, but it is important to reserve tickets for the performances on 1 September, as there are a limited number of places. Read more and book tickets at odinteatret.dk

Ildfluefest is supported by Holstebro Municipality and Vestforsyning.
