Eugenio Barba's last premiere with the Odin Teatret ensemble in Holstebro
Next week, the performance "Thebes at the yellow fever" will be performed at Nordisk Teaterlaboratorium in Holstebro.
Odin Teatret's founder, Eugenio Barba, will next week premiere his last performance at Nordisk Teaterlaboratorium with Odin Teatret's ensemble. The play is called "Thebes at the yellow fever".
It premieres on Monday 12 September and plays five times in Holstebro until 16 September. After this, the ensemble goes on tour and performs the show in Rome, Bari, Poland, and ends in Paris, the city of cities.
The dates are 26 September – 2 October in Rome, Bari (Italy) 6 – 9 October, Poland 22 – 26 October and ending at the Théâtre du Soleil in Paris 8 – 19 November.
The action of the play takes place the day after the final battle. The war between Oedipus' two sons for the rule of Thebes is over. The rebel Antigone has been punished for desecrating the city's laws.
The families bury their dead. Oedipus's ghost wanders among the corpses. Creon and Teresias join forces to make peace. The sphinx and the plague lie in wait. For all of us it is spring, the time of falling in love. The future is a jumble of sun and gold: a yellow fever.
