Age Against the Machine Festival Holstebro

Age Against the Machine Festival Holstebro

- A celebration of life, community and aging, 7 - 9 November, 2024

We are on the threshold of something very special. Nordisk Teaterlaboratorium is proud to present the very first **Age Against the Machine Festival** in Holstebro - a festival that brings generations together and dares to tackle the topics we too often avoid: aging, the stages of life and the human relationships that bind us together.

Three days that touch the heart

For three intense days, you are invited to experience five theater performances created by both young and old from Portugal, Serbia, Poland, Italy and Denmark. It's not just theater - it's people's life stories. Experiences, sorrows, joys and memories that we normally only share with those closest to us are turned into art. Through these performances, we are given the opportunity to see the world with new eyes and understand that ageing is not something to fear, but something to celebrate.

A project that goes straight to the heart

Age Against the Machine is a project about people - about the bonds we form across age. There is no 'us' and 'them'. Only community. Young and old stand side by side on stage and together they build bridges between generations through art. It's a reminder of how valuable life experience is and how much we can learn from each other, whether we're 20 or 80. It gives a voice to ageing - a voice that breaks society's prejudices and reminds us that age does not define our worth.

Why this festival matters

If you've ever wondered what it means to grow older, or what we as humans can create together, then you need to experience **Age Against the Machine Festival**. It's more than theater. It's an invitation to reflect on how we as a society view old age and how we can support each other through all stages of life. It's a chance to be touched, to rethink and to experience the magic of what people can accomplish when we come together.

This festival is about rediscovering our common humanity - about seeing each other for who we are: people who share this journey through life. Come and be a part of something special.
