”Trainings For The Contemporary Alchemist”
- a series of smaller end larger explosions.
"WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE - but our bodies are not good nourishment for the earth because of the chemicals, medicine, and poisons they contain. Sadly, it is better to burn most of us rather than returning our bodies to the earth when we die", Fin Jordão, biologist.
With the aftershock of this quote in mind, we must ask ourselves: How do we, as humans, become a nourishing ingredient for our shared ecosystem?
Hello!earth brings you to a place of grand and fragile visions. A lab where new thoughts and ideas can become reality, and where we create the world together instead of consuming it.
In "Trainings for the Contemporary Alchemist", we'll explore what a modern alchemist is and try to answer the question of how we can become a healing and re-generative factor on this planet we call home.
Through alchemical tradition, where spirit and matter are equal components in every transformation, we embark on a journey of imaginative discovery in chemistry, science, spirit, superstition, and contemporary rituals, exploring how we can re-create a deeper connection between spirit and matter together.
Each event takes place locally as a series of alchemy trainings, a collective healing organism that unites our spirit and earthly existence to take actions of care and reparation.
NOTE: Transformation and reshaping of the very essence of matter, our cells, inherited patterns, and political systems may occur!
ALSO NOTE: This project is site-specific and takes place at Østergade 5, 7500 Holstebro as part of Holstebro Byfestival (Eng: town festival) 2025.
