Moving with our ambiguous self — A Physical Response to the Quarter Life Crisis (QLC)
This performance is inspired by the Quarter Life Crisis (QLC), a transitional period that many people experience in their late twenties and early thirties, characterised by doubt, self-examination, and growth.
The project is created by Mellem To, consisting of performance artist Christina Dyekjær (DK) and Berlin-based Japanese choreographer Keisuke Sugawara.
Through physical performance, sound, and visual elements, the performance expresses the emotional phases of awareness, abandonment, and acceptance.
The work, titled Quarterlife: CREST, explores the inner “peak” between loss and renewal, identity and redefinition.
As knowledge and experience grow, so does uncertainty about direction. As we look further into the future, new choices and inner conflicts begin to emerge. The work reflects this process and offers a context in which to acknowledge the evolving self and its ambiguous responses at such crossroads.
The performance is a co-production with Nordisk Teaterlaboratorium and has been developed through residencies and exchanges with locals in Holstebro.
