SPIT BUCKETS AND BLACK HOLES
START LOCATION: NTL, MAIN ENTRANCEN
END LOCATION: SÆRKÆRPARKEN 99
Join the spit collector on a performative sound walk through the slimy language of spit and get a new perspective on how epidemics, bodily fluids and our political reality are entangled and connected. The sound walk unfolds the language of the alien and that which is no longer us, but comes from us. ‘Spit Buckets and Black Holes’ balances big ideas with humour and storytelling and invites you into a universe of fairytale magic.
Equipped with headphones, the audience is guided through the corners of the city via hidden paths. With a performative feel and an immersive soundscape in the ear canals, the water and spit in our bodies are set in motion. ‘Spit Buckets and Black Holes’ examines Romanticism's view of nature based on a simultaneous need to understand the muddy, the corrupt and the normally discarded.
The performance allows the audience to reflect on the fundamental human desire to tell stories and ask the questions of our time: What kind of world do we live in? What other worlds are possible to imagine? And what does it matter what stories we tell ourselves about the past, present and future?
The performance is created in collaboration with composer Frederik Heidemann, dramaturg Betina Birkjær, tailor Elsebeth Hede Jensen and lyricist Selina Rom Andersen.
