Hope for the Future (Sinding Ørre)

In 2024, 17 wall paintings were created across 17 towns and 9 municipalities in Mid- and Western Jutland. Each painting has its own artistic style and represents one of the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

As part of the Street Art Festival in Mid- and Western Jutland, Nordisk Teaterlaboratorium will celebrate three of the paintings together with the local children, raising awareness of the themes and goals they represent.

In Sinding Ørre, we will celebrate the painting that focuses on inequality. With the students from Sinding Ørre School, we will present the artwork Skoletoften, 7, 7400 Herning.

Nordisk Teaterlaboratorium aims to inspire dialogue on how we can work together under the UN SDGs to create a better future. The celebrations in the three towns make up the larger art project titled "Hope for the Future".

The project is developed through workshops with the children, where everyone collaborates to create an artistic narrative that relates to the theme of each painting. The workshop will culminate in a public showcase designed to raise awareness of the SDGs and encourage reflection for both participants and audience members.

The children will present a combination of song, dance, and short theatrical scenes where simple props play a central part as they are carried, passed on, used, hidden away, and shown off.

Music and movement merge with visual elements and theatre.

This will not be a traditional showcase but rather a co-creative work of art in motion, where the form, content, and message are all developed in collaboration with the children.

The performance will last about 20-30 minutes and will take place outdoors.
