DreamScape: Art exhibition and workshops - Holstebro Festive Week 2024

Date
9 - 16 jun.

DreamScape takes place from 9th of June to 16th of June at Nordisk Teaterlaboratorium, where there will be an art installation throughout the week and different workshops on all of these days. Each workshop will be specified in more detail, and get their own event as we get closer to The Festive Week.

The Festive Week 2024 is proud to present DreamScape: a project, in which Nordisk Teaterlaboratorium’s foyer, white room, and outdoor spaces will be transformed into an expositional artistic space.

Chosen local artists have been invited to display their art in the foyer during the week, and the audience will get to experience different types of installations. Before the Festive Week begins, different groups of children alongside their art teachers will take part in an art workshop, in which they will decorate the outer space of Nordisk Teaterlaboratorium – this décor can then be enjoyed and appreciated by the audience during the week.

The white room will become a space for the guests to take part in workshops hosted by different artists, where you can get the chance to experiment with sculpture, paint, dance, theater, music and much more.

The foyer of Nordisk Teaterlaboratorium will be alive with art and presence and be a lovely spot to cross when going to and from performances in the Halm Colosseum.

Before The Festive Week begins, different groups of children along with their art teachers will be part of the workshop "Masks of the Future, a clay mask workshop" facilitated by Alice Occhiali and Helle Freja.

The participants are children from Sønderlandssskolen, who with clay will make the masks of the future on the trees in the driveway to Nordisk Teaterlaboratorium. This workshop is inspired by the title of Holstebro Festive Week, Dreams for the Future, as well as the 750th year anniversary of Holstebro. The children will be given an intro to the future, and how it may affect faces. How will faces look in 50 years for the citys 800th anniversary? Which way will the development of surgically changing faces take us?

What dreams for the future do the children have, and how can they express it in clay faces? All this will be portrayed through clay, and decorate the outer area of Nordisk Teaterlaboratorium - these decorations can be enjoyed and appreciated by the audience thoughout the week.
